Issued in 1969, these plates were put on a 1959 Irish Blue MG-A 1600, which was driven in California for twenty years. The car was restored in the US and shipped to Belgium in 1990, in restored condition, with the black plates on it. The new owner, who lived in the Antwerp area, took the plates off and stored them in his garage. In 1995, the MG-A was sold to my Dad, who lives in Holland. He secured the plates as part of the deal and then gave them to me, which is how they ended up in Canada. I held on to these plates for years but didn't display them, since the colors were badly faded. In 2006, someone suggested I contact Rod Pearman in Georgia, who did a masterful job restoring them! In 2009, California changed its YOM law and I sold the plates to a classic car owner in San Francisco.

To be honest with you I was worried about having my plates restored, I did the research on all the plate restoration sites and I really liked the Tag Dr. I called Rod to ask about his services, he filled me in on the process and the time frame. Rod was open and honest that it put me at ease so I sent my plates the next day. Rod kept in touch by email sending me pictures as the plates took shape, in a short few weeks the plates were done. Wow! my plates look awesome, just like the site showed and what Rod told me could be done. Thanks.
